Dr. Suphat Champathong
Permanent Secretary for Education, Ministry of Education; Vice Chair of the Thai National Commission for UNESCO
Biography:
Dr. Suphat Champatong, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Thailand, is also the Vice Chair of the Thai National Commission for UNESCO by position. Before his post as the Permanent Secretary for Education, he was assigned to various key positions in education related departments, including the Secretary-General of the Office of the Education Council, the Secretary-General of the Office of the Higher Education Commission, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Thailand.
As the Permanent Secretary for Education, he is encouraging officials and relevant educational personnel to implement education policies that are in line with the National Strategy on human resource development and capacity building, as well as the Master Plan under the National Strategy, and educational management policies of the Ministry of Education. These policies have goals to integrate education administration and management according to the principles of good governance and to develop learners by having quality and lifelong learning education, 21st century skills, and inclusive and equitable access to quality education.
