Special Hybrid Seminar: Sharing Knowledge on the e-ASIA Joint Research Program
On Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022, the Division of Global Research and Innovation Promotion at the Office of International Affairs and Global Networkhosted a special hybrid seminar entitled “Sharing Knowledge on the e-ASIA Joint Research Program” at the Meeting Room on the 3rd floor, Office of Academic Resources (Central Library) and Facebook Live via “Office of International Affairs and Global Network, Chulalongkorn U.” page. Prof. Kaywalee Chatdarong, DVM, PhD, DTBT, Vice President for Strategic Planning, Innovation and Global Engagement, delivered a welcoming speech to commence the seminar.
This event aims to provide the information about one of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) funding schemes, known as the e-ASIA Joint Research Program (e-ASIA JRP) tothe attendants and to give them the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with the executives of the JST and Chula researchers who have been funded by the e-ASIA JRP.
The special guest lecturers were Mr. Kobayashi Osamu, Director, Department of International Affairs, JST and Ms. Kaneko Emi, Director, Singapore Office, JST/ Secretary General, e-ASIA Program Secretariat who provided the information about the JST’s STI Cooperation Support between Japan and Thailand, and the Introduction to the e-ASIA JRP, respectively.
From Chulalongkorn University, Ms. Pattharaporn Suntharasaj, PhD, Director of the Global Research and Innovation Promotion Division, provided the information about international funding landscape and Chula international funded projects by JST and especially the e-ASIA JRP. Then, the following three Chula funded researchers of the e-ASIA JRP:
- Prof. Joongjai Panpranot, PhD, Faculty of Engineering, who is one of the Principal Investigators (PIs) of the research project entitled “Multi-scale Simulations and Design for CO2 Recycling Related Processes,”
- Prof. Suttichai Assabumrungrat, PhD, Faculty of Engineering, who is one of the PIs of the research project entitled “Development of Algal Bioenergy Systems for Green and Sustainable ASEAN Region,” and
- Prof. Boonyarach Kitiyanan, PhD, the Petroleum and Petrochemical College, who is one of the PIs of the research project entitled “Development of New Functional Polymers from Plant Oils by Efficient Catalytic Carbon-Carbon Bond Formation, Post Modifications”
shared the knowledge and experience on their research projects, respectively.
