An Afternoon Tea hosted by Ambassador Robert F. Godec, the U.S. Ambassador to Thailand
On April 19th, 2023, Ambassador Robert F. Godec, the U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, hosted an afternoon tea for the delegation of Chulalongkorn University at the Ambassador’s residence in Bangkok.
The Chula delegates consisted of
- Prof. Kaywalee Chatdarong, DVM, PhD, DTBT,
Vice President for Strategic Planning, Innovation and Global Engagement; - Ms. Pattharaporn Suntharasaj, PhD,
Director of Chula Global Research and Innovation Promotion of the Office of International Affairs and Global Network;
and the lecturers of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, who play major roles in the Chula Startup Ecosystem; namely,
- Assoc. Prof. Jittima Luckanagul, PhD,
Associate Dean for Global Engagement and International Affairs, and Founder of Nabsolute Co. Ltd.; - Prof. Suthira Taychakhoonavudh, PhD,
Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Baiya Phytopharm Co. Ltd.; - Assoc. Prof. Waranyoo Phoolcharoen, PhD,
Chief Technical Officer and Co-founder of Baiya Phytopharm Co., Ltd.; and - Asst. Prof. Visarut Buranasudja, RPh, PhD,

At the afternoon tea, the Ambassador thanked the guests for participating in the Tradewinds 2023, the largest U.S. government-led trade mission and business development forum, held in Thailand and congratulated the accomplishment of the Chula Startup team. He also showed the willingness of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok to support the delegation of Chulalongkorn University to attend and pitch at the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2023 in the U.S. from May 1st – 4th, 2023.
In addition, both parties discussed the Startup Ecosystem and its lesson learned. On this occasion, the Chula delegates from Nabsolute Co. Ltd. and Baiya Phytopharm Co., Ltd. also shared the information and experience about the Chula Startup Ecosystem.
