FALLING WALLS GLOBAL CALL 2023

The Falling Walls Foundation has announced the Falling Walls Global Call 2023, an international competition format that brings together science enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds. Whether you’re a researcher, innovator, or a team of passionate individuals, the Falling Walls Global Call is the perfect platform to share your work and address global challenges.

The call encourages and invites nominations and applications from all over the world. This is your chance to showcase your groundbreaking research to a global audience or nominate a colleague’s project in one of the nine breakthrough categories.

Benefits:

  • By participating in the Falling Walls Global Call, you can improve the visibility of your research and be recognized for your contributions.Winners may be asked to present their work in a video or other media. By submitting the content, the winner consents to the publication (as a whole and in parts) via social media, in newsletters and on our growing content library at www.falling-walls.com, as well as on YouTube and the platforms of our partners.
  • The Science Breakthroughs of the Year in each category may be invited to attend the Falling Walls Science Summit in November 2023 in Germany.
  • Travel: Travel stipends are available in selected categories to cover the travel cost of the selected nominee (single person who presents the Breakthrough on stage in Berlin).
  • Accommodation: In selected categories, the Falling Walls Foundation will cover accommodation costs for the selected nominee’s stay in Berlin for at least 2 nights from 8-10 November 2023 at its partner hotel (single person who presents the Breakthrough on stage in Berlin).

Eligibility:

  • You can either nominate outstanding research or apply with your own project in one of the nine breakthrough categories.
  • By opting in to Falling Walls Science Breakthroughs of the Year 2023, nominees confirm that their work has never been presented on the Falling Walls Breakthrough Stage before. Nominees can be nominated again with a different project /research topic.
  • At the time of nomination, the nominees must be of full age according to their domestic legislation or older, however, no less than 18 years old.
  • Nominations are open to all scientific disciplines, as well as all arts in the category “Art and Science”.
  • All rights to the presented work should be held by the presenter and be public before the submission/presentation to Falling Walls. By presenting on the Falling Walls Stage, presenters guarantee that their research methods and academic practices adhere to legal standards and established ethical values.
