A Meeting for Establishing Academic Innovation Development Collaboration between the Ministry of Education of China, the Senyuan Group, and Chulalongkorn University
On June 1st, 2023, Assistant Professor Pomthong Malakul Na Ayudhaya, Ph.D., Vice President for Administration, Arts, and Culture Management of Chulalongkorn University, together with Professor Patcha U-Tiswannakul, Ph.D., Head of the Fashion and Creative Arts Research Unit of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, and Assistant Professor Thee Kodtha, Ph.D., representing the Council of University Presidents of Thailand, had a meeting with the delegates of the Center for Evaluation and Quality Monitoring of Education and Teaching, Heilongjiang Teacher Development Institute, Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China (PRC). The guests consisted of Mr. Cai Shouyi, Director of the Education Bureau of Qinhuangdao; Mrs. Jing Liying, Director of the Education Evaluation Institute of Heilongjiang Province; and the Senyuan Group, represented by Mr. Huang Wenxuan, Chairman; Mr. Huang Zhichao, President, Mr. Yao Yuan, Assistant to the President, Mrs. Wang Yueting, Market Supervisor and Mr. Zhang Yu, Attaché for the Senyuan Group in Thailand Education Cooperation. The event took place at the Center for Digital Humanities on the 2nd Floor of the Boromrajakumari Building.
Before the discussion commenced, a video introduction of Chulalongkorn University was played to provide the background information about the University to the delegates, while Mr. Huang Wenxuan, Chairman of the Senyuan Group, presented an introduction to the Company and its missions. Dr. Atthaphon Ponglawhapun, the representative of the Department of Creative Arts of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, also presented a brief account of the Department.
After the initial presentations by both sides, the participants discussed the potential collaboration on academic innovation development, focusing on creative arts and innovative creative arts laboratory. The Senyuan Group, the Ministry of Education of China, and Chulalongkorn University expressed their mutual interest in jointly establishing the Innovation Center for Cultural Creativity and Creative Arts. The Center to be established will be a clean energy laboratory to develop the creative arts fashion industry market. The meeting also discussed how to build academic partnerships for collaborative research and to support the Chinese government scholars to pursue their studies in the field of design at Chulalongkorn University. The visit of the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Senyuan Group to Chulalongkorn University will certainly help to strengthen the relationship between both sides and enhance academic innovation development collaboration between Thailand and China.
