New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program
The New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program is the exclusive scholarship and exchange initiative sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Taiwan, with the aim of inspiring outstanding young talents from esteemed universities in Southeast Asia to explore Taiwan.
National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) is the fifth university to implement this program. This year, focusing on the themes of sustainability and global warming, NCHU plan to recruit students from our partner universities in the New Southbound countries.

Eligible Participants | To be eligible for this opportunity, students must: -Be citizens of Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Australia, or New Zealand. -Be third-year, fourth-year, or master’s students. -Regardless of background, possess an interest in the field of sustainability. |
Program Structure | 4 hour Sustainability related courses/Week 6 hour Mandarin courses/WeekCultural Activities/Month **The Sustainability related courses are credit-bearing, and students may also choose additional courses according to their interests. |
Nomination Process | Chulalongkorn University can nominate 1-2 students for participation in this program. |
Scholarship | The program will offer the following stipends: NTD 10,000 monthly stipend Round-trip economy class flight ticket (up to NTD 25,000) On-campus housing Free Mandarin courses and credited sustainability-related courses Free cultural activities |

- Chula Application Deadline: May 19 at Noon (BKK Time)
- Chula Applicants’ Interview: May 21, 2024, 11:00 – 12:00 hrs. (Specific interview time for each applicants will be confirmed after documents reviewed)
After being nominated by Chula OIA, Chula participants will receive an application link that are required to fill out the application and submit the documents to NCHU by May 27.
