‘Connecting Asia for A Sustainable Future Joint Summer Camp (JSC) – Unique Experience in Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan’ – Second Week at Chulalongkorn University
Chulalongkorn University, the University of Hong Kong, and Hokkaido University collaborated in organizing a new learning opportunity for university students selected from all over the world – ‘Connecting Asia for A Sustainable Future Joint Summer Camp (JSC) – Unique Experience in Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan’ from July 14th to August 4th, 2023. This JSC took twenty-four students through an eye-opening journey across Thailand, Hong Kong, and Japan, under the theme of sustainability, focusing on Industry 4.0, Circular Economy, and One Health.
The second week of the JSC (July 21st – 27th, 2024) was hosted by Chulalongkorn University through the collaboration of the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII) and the Faculty of Arts. During this period, the students were actively engaged in a variety of educational experiences and on-campus activities related to the topic of Entrepreneurship Behavior, AI, SDG and Innovation. These topics provided them with valuable insights into the world of technology, innovation, and business.
As part of the program, the JSC students had the opportunity to interact with local students and entrepreneurs as well as to explore real-world examples of sustainable innovation through field trips to various places, such as DEPA 5G Innovation Ecosystem Center, Butterfly Garden and Red Vintage Building at Chatuchak Park, Bang Pa In Palace in Ayutthaya, and Ichitan Green Factory and Tanland, to gain practical knowledge about sustainability in action. Beyond the classroom and industry visits, they also immersed themselves in the rich culture of Thailand, enjoying its famous cuisine, traditional dances, and other Thai cultural phenomena.
This collaborative summer camp is a significant platform for learning, cultural exchange and working together for a sustainable future. As the students returned home, they would carry with them not only newfound knowledge but also a greater inspiration to create positive change in our world.
