The “Nan Nam Jai” Project: Chulalongkorn University Students Unite to Aid Nan Province

On October 18th, 2024, at the Center of Learning Network for the Region (CLNR) in Nan Province, Associate Professor Siridech Sucheewa, Ph.D., and Associate Professor Sukanya Sompaiboon, Vice Presidents of Chulalongkorn University, together with student representatives (seven Thais and twenty-five international students), and the officers of the Office of Student Affairs, the Chula Student Wellness Unit, and the Office of International Affairs and Global Network, presented school supplies to the representatives of schools in Nan Province.
This presentation of school supplies is part of the “Nan Nam Jai” Project supported by the Property Management of Chulalongkorn University (PMCU) and the Friends in Need (of “PA”) Volunteers Foundation in the Thai Red Cross Society. The Nan Governor, Mr. Chaiyanarong Wongyai, was present at the event to express words of appreciation to the visitors from Bangkok. The school supplies came from the public donations that Chula has received and specifically allocated for the flood victims in Nan Province, under the motto, “From Samyan to Nan Nakorn”.
On this occasion, the team also visited Nan Nakhon School to repair flood-damaged facilities. All projects that Chulalongkorn University has contributed to aid Nan people since the flood incident in late August this year, highlight the University’s commitment to supporting the communities through both immediate relief and sustainable recovery efforts.
