Chulalongkorn University Exploring Collaboration with Tsinghua University

On 1st November 2024, President Wilert Puriwat and Chulalongkorn University administrators visited Tsinghua University in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China. The Chula administrators were welcome by Prof. Yang Bin, Vice President for International Affairs of the host university.
During the meeting, both sides focused on potential collaborations, particularly in the areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), innovation, joint initiatives, and student and faculty exchanges. Following the discussions, the Chula delegation visited the Institute for AI International Governance of Tsinghua University (I-AIIG), where they were guided by Prof. Liang Zheng, Associate Dean of the Institute.
During the visit, the delegation also had the opportunity to meet Chulalongkorn University students currently studying at Tsinghua University as exchange students. These students, from the Faculty of Engineering’s Information and Communication Engineering Program, shared their experiences while studying at Tsinghua University with the delegation.
Chulalongkorn University representatives included two Vice Presidents — Assoc. Prof. Dr. Palanee Ammaranond and Assoc. Prof. Manoj Lohatepanont — and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suradech Chotiudompant, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as the representatives of nine Faculties and four Schools in different academic principles at both an undergraduate and a graduate level.
