A Visit to Peking University by Chulalongkorn University Delegation

On 2nd November 2024, a delegation from Chulalongkorn University, led by Professor Wilert Puriwat, D.Phil., visited Peking University in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China. The delegation was welcomed by Hao Ping, Party Secretary, and Chair of University Council; Professor Gong Qihuang, President of Peking University; and Gu Tao, Vice Chair of Peking University Council.
Both parties explored ways to strengthen the relationship between the two universities, particularly through collaborative projects, joint research, and faculty exchange programs. In addition, the representatives of Chula’s nine Faculties and four Schools presented their highlighted international programs to initiate collaborations.
On this occasion, the Chula delegation, led by the students in the Thai Language Program at Peking University, took a tour of the University campus, visiting some highlights like Boya Academy and the Weiming Lake area.
Chulalongkorn University and Peking University established their formal partnership in 1988. Their strong relationship is highlighted by the Confucius Institute’s Bangkok branch at Chulalongkorn University, which was inaugurated in 2006 and the inauguration ceremony was presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, an alumna of both universities.
