Academic Engagement between Chulalongkorn University and Harvard University
On June 3rd, 2025, Chulalongkorn University delegates—including Vice Presidents, Assistants to the President, Deans of the Faculties and Colleges, and Directors of the Institutions—led by President Wilert Puriwat, visited Harvard University. The delegation was welcomed by Katherine G. O’Dair, University Marshal and Mark C. Elliott, Vice Provost for International Affairs. The meeting, held at the Harvard Faculty Club, focused on potential collaborations between the two institutions. On this occasion, President Wilert Puriwat was invited to sign the official Harvard guest book, to mark a visit of the Chulalongkorn University delegation.

Following the meeting with Harvard’s administrative team, the delegation visited the Harvard Extension School, where, at One Brattle Square, they were introduced to an overview of the School by Dr. Nancy Coleman, Dean of the Division of Continuing Education (DCE), and Mr. Tom Garriepy, Executive Director of DCE’s International Programs. After that, the delegation, guided by Mr. Eric Patnode, Program Manager, toured the Extension School’s high-tech studio and PDP classroom facilities.
In the afternoon, the delegation went to the Bowie Vernon Room to meet the representatives of the Harvard University Asia Center, led by Director Michael Puett. Also present were James Robson, Faculty Director of the Harvard-Yenching Institute, and Jay Rosengard, Director of the Thai Studies Program. The meeting explored possible initiatives between the Asia Center at Harvard and Chulalongkorn University.
