President Bundhit Eua-arporn’s Meeting with the French Ambassador to Thailand and the Representative of the IRD in Thailand
On October 26, 2021, Chulalongkorn University and the Institute of Research Development (IRD)in Thailand entered into an agreement to establish the collaboration in academic and research activities between the two parties. On this occasion Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn, together with his administrative team—Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natcha Thawesaengskulthai, Vice President for Strategic Planning, Innovation and Global Engagement and Asst. Prof. Dr. Voraprapa Nakavachara, Assistant to the President for Global Engagement, had the chance to meet H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, the French Ambassador to Thailand, the representative of the French Embassy in Bangkok and Mr. Olivier Evrard, the representative of the IRD in Thailand. The meeting was the venue where they could share their views on promoting partnerships in research collaboration between Chulalongkorn University, the French Embassy and the Institute of Research for Development, especially in PREZODE (Prevention of Zoonotic Diseases). They also emphasized that this agreement will not only stipulate research collaboration that has an impact on France and Thailand, but it will also help global society to be aware of and prepare for a global pandemic in the future through developing preventive strategies for dealing with it.
