Global Mental Health – Mental Health and Wellbeing of Young People

The bold ideas Grand Challenges Canada supports integrate science and technology, social and business innovation – known as Integrated Innovation®.
GCC is excited to announce the Global Mental Health Program has launched its second round of seed funding. Seed grants of up to $250,000 CAD are available for innovations that seek to enhance mental health literacy and/or provide youth-friendly services to address the mental health needs of the most underserved young people, aged 10 to 24 years, in low- and middle-income countries.
Deadlines: 23 November 2021 at 12:00 pm EST (5:00pm UTC) – All applicants MUST register for an account on the Grand Challenges Canada Fluxx Portal by this date. ONLY applicants registered by this date will be eligible to submit an application.
1 December 2021 at 12:00 pm EST (5:00pm UTC) – All applicants MUST submit an application via Grand Challenges Canada Fluxx Portal by this date to be considered for funding. Proposals submitted after this date and time will not be accepted.

Awards: Around 20 Projects
Eligibility Criteria:
Eligible applicants include social enterprises and legally recognized organizations (e.g., non-profit, for-profit, limited liability companies, research/academic institutions) that:
- are formed and legally incorporated in an eligible country listed in Appendix A of the Request for Proposals and/or Canada. Thailand is included in the list and therefore Thai organizations are eligible to apply. (Please note: Applicants from Canada must implement their project in an eligible country/countries listed in Appendix A of the Requests for Proposals).
- can successfully perform activities in their technical area.
- can receive and administer grant funding.
