Call for applicants: PhD position on decolonising the imagination
UNESCO Futures Literacy would like to bring to your attention the following doctoral position on “Decolonising the Imagination: Futures Literacies in Immersive spaces” supervised by Prof Keri Facer at the University of Bristol’s new Centre for Sociodigital Futures (CenSoF). The position is funded by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council. In view of the ambition to enrich the field of Futures Studies with more diverse voices, applications from the global South are particularly strongly encouraged.
Thematically, the position is intended for research around capacity-building for immersive practices which stimulate the exploration and imagination of critical and emancipatory futures, also by making use of technologies. The PhD candidate will be placed at the cutting-edge of practice in immersive anticipatory learning oriented towards decolonisation. The position offers a further advantage of access to the many partners supporting CenSoF, among whom UNESCO.
Applications should be handed in by 12pm (UK time) on 25 February 2022.
