Youth Special event and Solutions Challenge as part of the 9th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD)
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is organizing a Youth Special event and Solutions Challenge as part of the 9th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD).
In this context, ESCAP is organizing two dedicated youth engagement initiatives:
- Pre-APFSD (February to March): Youth are invited to participate in a Solutions Challenge by submitting their solutions to panel. Some workshops will be held to help the selected teams refine their solutions before the APFSD Special Youth Event. Application is open to youth and more information can be found here
- APFSD Special Youth Event (31 March): Youth teams will present their solutions to the proposed challenges and discuss them with senior leaders and an audience through an engaging and interactive format.
The APFSD Youth Special Event will also offer the opportunity to promote ongoing global and regional youth engagement initiatives that aim to strengthen youth engagement and leadership towards the SDGs. As dispersed information is a major barrier to active youth engagement, a dedicated webpage will be created to provide youth with a one-stop-shop for Youth engagement opportunities available to them at the time of the APFSD event and promoted during the event.
