For the undergraduate full-degree, students cannot apply during the mid-academic year, as many courses require prerequisite, which are often offered in the first semester. Most of our programs follow the semester system; only some graduate programs are offered in the trimester system.
For undergraduate admissions, application is open from December to March of the following year for the 1st semester of the academic year (August intake) only.
For graduate admissions, application is open from February to May for the 1st semester of the academic year (August intake), and from September to November for the 2nd semester (January intake). Some programs accept all-year-round admissions.

The University provides life insurance for all students, without additional charge as it is already included in the tuition fees. The coverage starts from 1 August to 31 July of the following year, worldwide, with death (regardless of cause) 10,000 THB compensation or accidental death 210,000 THB compensation. In addition, for international students, group health insurance also covers life insurance with death 10,000 THB compensation and COVID-19 insurance.

At Chula, there are libraries located in different Faculties and the CU Central Library, officially known as the Academic Resource Center. Halal food is available at many canteens on the Chula campus. The shops that serve halal food will display the halal symbol on their service counters. Popular shops are located in the canteens at the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Chulachakrabongse Building, and CU Dormitory. Furthermore, there are many restaurants in the vicinity of Chula that offer halal food. The CU Health Service Center (CUHC) is the on-campus health care service for Chula students, staff and guests. Its services include, for example, general medicine, vaccination, counselling service and ambulance pick-up service. Depending on the types of medical care, the services at the CUHC are provided free of charge, or with some minimal charges, for Chula students, staff and guests. Moreover, given that Chula is also a Thailand’s leading medical university, there are also the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and The Thai Red Cross Society. Specialized medical services and 24-hour emergency medical services are all available at the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital. Chulalongkorn University offers free WiFi for Chula students and staff. Chula students can get connected with “Chula-FreeWiFi” with their student identification number and their Reg Chula password. For those enrolled prior to the 2019 academic year, the username requires 8-digit student ID number (excluding the last two digits), whereas for 2019 onwards, the username requires full 10 digit student ID number. Chula staff can connect to the “Chula-FreeWiFi” by using their CUNET Accounts that are provided by the Office of Information Technology (Chula IT). Chula-FreeWifi is available for the visitors attending meetings or other academic events at Chulalongkorn University.

For example, international students should hold a non-immigrant visa of the category ‘ED,’ international staff/lecturers should hold a non-immigrant visa of the category ‘B,’ international researchers should hold a non-immigrant visa of the category ‘RS,’ among others. To apply for a visa prior to your arrival in Thailand, you normally need a cover letter and a certificate of acceptance along with other documents required by the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate in your country of residence. An application form and other supporting documents must be submitted to the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate in your country of residence. Supporting documents required by the Royal Thai Embassies/Consulates in different countries may be varied, please consult the Thai Embassy/Consulate in your country for further details. Those who wish to extend their stay must apply for visa extension, and they may be permitted to stay in the country up to a maximum of one year or until the end of their work or study period. A request for an extension can be made within the period of forty-five (45) days prior to the expiry date of the current visa. Important Remark: * 1 month before your visa expires, please contact your program coordinator and submit your passport along with educational supporting document(s) to request a letter for visa extension. Please note that, once the OIA receives the complete documents from your program coordinator, it usually takes up to 5-7 working days to process a packet of these visa-related documents. To comply with the immigration regulations and the Thai law, you have to terminate your visa in cases where
1. You no longer hold the status of a student (withdrawal of the student status, graduation, etc.) or of an employee of an organization (resignation, etc.),
2. You change the purpose of your stay; you are then required to change the type of non-immigration visa you are holding and apply for an appropriate type.
3. You change the host institution.
4. Your current visa does not expire after the graduation date as stated in the transcript (in other words, you still have days/weeks/months left in your visa permit after your graduation date).
Application for visa termination is accepted within the period of twenty-one (21) days prior to the desired date of termination. Please contact your program coordinator and submit your passport and transcript to request a letter of visa termination. Please note that the document process usually takes 5-7 working days.

For foreigners staying in Thailand for a period longer than 90 consecutive days while on a Non-Immigrant Visa or Extension of Stay, they are required by the Thai Immigration law to report their present address every 90 days. Failure to submit a 90-day report within the given timeframe will result in a fine of THB 2,000. Foreigners should file a report 15 days before, or 7 days after the 90-day period expires.
