Meeting between a Group of Ambassadors of the Spanish-Speaking Countries and the representatives of Chulalongkorn University

On July 26, 2022, Chulalongkorn University represented by Prof. Bundhit Eua-arporn, Ph.D., President; Prof. Kaywalee Chatdarong, DVM, Ph.D., Vice President for Strategic Planning, Innovation and Global Engagement; Dr. Ram Piyaket, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Global Network along with the representatives of the Faculty of Arts led by Assoc. Prof. Suradech Chotiudompant, Ph.D., Dean; Asst. Prof. Nirada Chitrakara, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Internationalisation and Organisational Image Enhancement; Asst. Prof. Penpisa Srivoranart, Ph.D., Head of Spanish Section, Department of Western Languages and Assoc. Prof. Pasuree Luesakul, Ph.D., Lecturer in Spanish Section, Department of Western Languages welcomed a Group of Ambassadors of the Spanish-Speaking Countries, namely, Mr. Gustavo Héctor Méndez, Chargé d´Affaires, a.i., Argentina, H.E. Mr. Álex Geiger, Ambassador of Chile, H.E. Ms. Ana María Prieto Abad, Ambassador of Columbia, H.E. Mr. Carlos Humberto Jiménez Licona, Ambassador of Guatemala), Ms. Atzimba Luna Becerril, Chargé d´Affaires, a.i. Mexico, H.E. Ms. Cecilia Zunilda Galarreta Bazan, Ambassador of Peru and H.E. Mr. Felipe de la Morena Casado, Ambassador of Spain.

The Ambassadors from the seven Spanish-speaking countries had a discussion with President Bundhit Eua-arporn and Chula administrators which they agreed to pursue more collaboration, exchange of students and staff through new channels, such as Virtual Student Exchange. In addition, the meeting also emphasized on encouraging the studying and teaching of Spanish language in Thailand in both university and secondary levels, including encouraging Thai citizens to regard the importance of Spanish language and culture through activities.
