Invitation to Engineering Innovation Challenge (EIC) 2022

The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) has been hosting the National Engineers Day (NED) in Singapore and this year the annual event will be held from 8 November to 19 November 2022. 

As part of the NED programme, IES invite all students (except primary and postgrads) to join the EIC competition with skill and imagination to build a prototype or model to demonstrate ideas or make innovative improvements to an AI application, contributing to a Sustainable Future.

The objective of the competition is to encourage the students to tap on their creativity on the project to spark their interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) Education as well as to inspire the young people to take positive actions to improve the world.

This is a great opportunity for you to gain international exposure and putting what you have learnt into practice.

The theme for this year’s EIC is Artificial Intelligence for a Sustainable Future.

Form a team of up to 5 members (Category 4) and register interest HERE by 31 August 2022.

Prepare a proposal of not more than 800 words on background and project description by 16 September 2022.

Shortlisting Criteria: Problem Statement & Written proposal

  • Research Question/ Problem 40%
  • Design and methodology 30%
  • Creativity 30%
