On July 7, 2022, Prof. Bundhit Eua-arporn, Ph.D., President of Chulalongkorn University, and Prof. Rocky Tuan, Vice-Chair of APRU and Vice-Chancellor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, announced the launch of the APRU SDG4GC Program at the APRU Annual Presidents’ Meeting, held at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
The APRU SDG4GC is an intercultural, transdisciplinary, and interactive program that fosters global citizenship among students from 60 universities in 19 economies across the Pacific Rim. Initiated and led by Chulalongkorn University, the Program is co-designed by six core partner universities represented by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Kyushu University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Simon Fraser University, Universiti Malaya, and in collaboration with the United Nations (UN).
The program will foster global citizenship by raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sharing SDG practices in diverse cultural and social contexts. The program places critical importance on introducing locally embedded unique case studies among the network members to help students develop a broad array of perspectives and deepen their understanding of global challenges.
