[Apply Now!] AUA Youth Forum in Kazakhstan
Deadline: September 16, 2022
Asian University Alliance (AUA) Youth Forum invites selected students from AUA member universities to address developmental issues in the region, enhance youth empowerment, and promote cultural and academic exchanges. As one of the 14 founding members of AUA, Chulalongkorn University is privileged with the opportunity to nominate 3 students (undergraduate and/or graduate) to participate in the forthcoming onsite program under the theme “Building a Meta Silk Road: Integration of Asian Cultures in the Real and Virtual Universe”. It will be hosted by Nazarbayev University (NU), Nur-Sultan City, in the Republic of Kazakhstan from 24-28 October 2022.
The Silk Road was a vast trade network connecting Eurasia and North Africa via land and sea routes. Nowadays, where everyone can connect virtually anywhere in the world, identifying our unique cultural contribution within the global community is complex. The Meta Silk Road can be a platform which contributes to Asian philosophy, culture, and wisdom to the development of global higher education while showcasing new forms of cultural identity.
Given the Silk Road’s symbolic meaning of sharing and exchange, the program aims to foster the sharing of experience, knowledge, new ideas and perspectives on the importance of Asian civilization, identity, culture, and philosophy through expert talks, workshops on emerging topics such as Eurasian Studies and Silk Road, research in AI, AR/XR/VR, data science, cyber security as well as through cultural activities and excursions.
The program covers expenses for the participants including visa fees, accommodation, meals (full board), and local transportation (including airport transfer) for the 5-day program. Upon arrival, each participant will receive US$500 lumpsum payment as airfare subsidy. For more information, please click here.
