[Invitation] Webinar – The Shaw Prize Lecture in Mathematical Sciences

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) cordially invites you, your colleagues and students to the Shaw Prize Lecture in Mathematical Sciences presented by Prof. Noga Alon, Professor of Mathematics at Princeton University, and Prof. Ehud Hrushovski, Merton Professor of Mathematical Logic, Merton College at the University of Oxford. 

The lecture will be held online via Zoom Webinar at 8:00pm Hong Kong Time (GMT+8) on September 30, 2022 (Friday). 

Prof. Alon and Prof. Hrushovski together won the 2022 Shaw Prize in Mathematical Sciences for their remarkable contributions to discrete mathematics and model theory with interaction notably with algebraic geometry, topology and computer sciences. They will speak respectively on the topics “The Combinatorial Nullstellensatz: Applications, Extensions and Algorithms” and “Logic, Geometry and (Approximate) Groups”.
