[Call For Application] Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship @ Niigata University

The Graduate School of Science and Technology, Niigata University, offers the Global Education Program for Fostering Advanced SciTech Specialist having Practical Ability in Social Collaboration for those who wish to be matriculated either at the Advanced Materials Science and Technology, Electrical and Information Engineering, or the Environmental Science and Technology major.

Deadline: 21 November 2021 at noon (GMT+7)

Level of Study: Ph.D. (Research Students)

Duration: Full-Time 3 Year

Field of Study: 

  • Advanced Materials Science and Technology         
  • Environmental Science and Technology
  • Electrical and Information Engineering       

Eligibility for MEXT Scholarship Application:     

  • Nationality: Applicants must have the nationality of the ASEAN countries at the time of application.
  • Age: Applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1988.
  • Academic Background: Those who have been granted a Master’s Degree or are expected to obtain such a degree by September 2023.
  • Academic Grades: Those who have had a GPA of 2.30 or higher, based on the calculation formula specified by the MEXT and are also expected to maintain a GPA of 2.30 or higher for the period during which they receive their scholarship stipend. * Niigata University will calculate the applicants’ GPA upon receipt of the application documents.

  1. 2023 Application Form for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship (Research Students)
  2. Field of Study and Research Plan
  3. Letter of Recommendation from the Dean of Your Faculty
  4. Copy of International Passport
  5. Official Academic Transcript(s)
  6. Certificate of Academic Degree (Expected) Completion
  7. Certificate of Student Status
  8. Documents Certifying Academic Excellence at the Last Institution Attended
  9. Abstract of Thesis
  10. Certificate of Health
  11. Documents Certifying Language Abilities (Either in English or Japanese)
  12. Photographs (4.5 cm x 3.5cm)
