MEXT Scholarship 2023

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Environmental Engineering and Architecture, Nagoya University and the Department of Engineering Science, Gifu University are proud to announce the
“Forefront program on GLOCAL civil engineering leaders for co-development of Asia and Japan”. The objective of this program is to develop international civil engineers who have advanced expertise, ability to make comprehensive judgement and deployment capabilities for co-development of Asia, Japan and foreign countries in civil engineering field. Nagoya University and Gifu University admit a selected number of outstanding foreign students to prepare for the “Doctor Degree”. This program is supported by Japanese Government MEXT (Monbu-Kagaku-sho; Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).

The deadline for applications of MEXT scholarship is on December 10, 2022.

The following are provided to the scholarship students.

  • Exemption from enrollment and tuition fees
  • A monthly stipend of about 145,000 yen (subject to change depending on the annual budget of each year)
  • Air ticket from/to the student’s country

Although scholarship recipients are limited, Nagoya University also welcomes enrollment at private expense for both “Doctor Degree” and “Master Degree” in the Nagoya University Global 30 International Program (Civil and Environmental Engineering Graduate Program).
