[Call for Participation] NTUMUN 2023
NTU Model United Nations (NTUMUN) is one of the most prestigious international events organized by students from NTU Singapore. Since 2006, students from around the world have come together to discuss important geopolitical and social issues in the annually-held conference. NTUMUN is a unique platform for you to meet, discuss and collaborate with equally motivated and talented peers over the most relevant issues from across the globe.
You are invited to join as a delegate in the 17th annual edition of NTUMUN conference, which will be held from 17th to 19th March 2022 as an hybrid event, where delegates can choose between attending the conference physically or virtually.
Why MUN?
Model UN is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students represent countries and play the role of future leaders to develop solutions for the world’s pressing needs. Holding a global outlook, MUN serves as a platform for participants from around the world to connect while honing their critical thinking and public speaking skills.
Why NTUMUN?
NTUMUN, one of Asia’s pre-eminent Model UNs, moves into its 17th iteration of the conference in 2023. Over the course of three days, participants engage in debating on some of the world’s most pressing issues on behalf of their designated countries, and hypothesise appropriate solutions. NTUMUN has expanded over the years to include more than 400 participants from all over the world (The United States, Europe and Asia). In 2023, NTUMUN will consist of 7 physical councils, 4 online councils and a hybrid International Press Corps.
Held on the beautiful NTU campus and online, NTUMUN 2023 will embrace the hybrid format this year, with several new events to engage students in thinking critically about global issues.
What are our Core Values?
NTUMUN strives to elevate the MUN experience through the following values:
- Learning: promoting the skills of debating, diplomacy, research, critical thinking and decision-making.
- Excellence: encouraging excellence through rigour and pragmatism among the councils.
- Critical Global Awareness: developing a constructive change in attitude toward problems beyond the scope of the classroom, thereby promoting global citizenry.
