ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship (ACYLS) 2024/2025
The ASEAN University Network Secretariat is pleased to announce that the ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship 2024/2025 is now open for application. ACYLS is a fully funded scholarship dedicated for young and promising professionals with working experience in ASEAN to study for doctoral degree, master’s degrees, or short-term research scholar programmes in the People’s Republic of China.

Financial Scheme | ACYLS offers full scholarship covering all program-related expenses including tuition waiver and other school fees, accommodation, round-trip international air fare, comprehensive medical insurance and stipends. |
Eligibility | Applicants of ACYLS should meet the following criteria: a. Citizen of an ASEAN Member State (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam); b. In sound physical and mental health; c. Proficient in English (i.e., must possess an IELTS score of at least 6.0 or a TOEFL score of at least 80 points); d. Holder of an undergraduate degree and under the age of 45 if applying for a master’s degree; e. Holder of a graduate/master’s degree and under the age of 45 if applying for a doctoral degree; f. Having at least one-year work experience within government agencies, public or private institutions, universities, think-tanks or similar social agencies, and preferably has experience in the following: -Work related to foreign and international affairs, especially ASEAN and China-ASEAN affairs; -Work or study in the PRC; -Academic work on China or ASEAN-related affairs; g. Not a concurrent awardee of a Chinese government scholarship;h. Meets other admission requirements of the Chinese universities to which the applicant has applied. |
Application Procedures | Step 1– Complete online application by visiting CGSIS (Chinese Government Scholarship Information System) (Visit http://www.campuschina.org and click “Scholarship Application for Students” to log in). Online submission of the application is compulsory for each applicant by completing the application information and uploading all necessary supporting documents. Step 2– Prepare the application documents according to the “List of Application Documents” and upload all the required documents into the online application system. Step 3– After uploading all documents in the CGSIS website, submit the online/softcopy of application form and relevant documents as .pdf files in the online application form of AUN Secretariat below before the deadline (22 March 2024). The AUN Secretariat will then review the qualifications of all applicants and provide the list of recommended recipients to the Joint Committee of the ACYLS, which will decide the recommendation list. |
Deadline | After completing the online application procedure at CGS Information Management System (http://www.campuschina.org), please submit all softcopy documents through the AUN Website link by 22 March 2024. The result of the ACYLS 2024/2025 will be officially announced on the AUN Website in August 2024. |
