Call for Application – ASEAN Summer @NTU Programme TF LEaRN Scholarship

ASEAN Summer @NTU serves to provide a global learning experience for talented undergraduates with good academic standing and leadership potential to participate and learn alongside NTU and ASEAN students in a short-term multi-location (Singapore and another ASEAN city) programme.

Participants of the ASEAN Summer @NTU will develop a strong sense of cross-cultural intelligence and acquire a global mindset while fostering a sustained regional network of friends for the future development of Asia. The building of 21st Century core competencies will prepare them to be successful in their future chosen profession.

The ASEAN Summer @NTU Programme will be held from26 June to 27 July 2024 in Singapore and Vietnam. Application for ASEAN Summer @NTU 2024 is currently open!

Two successful candidates from Chulalongkorn University shall receive a study award worth SGD5,300 to participate in the ASEAN Summer @NTU Programme and it covers the following:

1. Singapore:  Programme fee at NTU (Tuition and socio-cultural activities) and Accommodation
2. Vietnam: Programme fee at Vietnam (Tuition, socio-cultural activities and corporate visits) and Accommodation
3. Financial award of SGD1,500 as: subsidy for airfare from home country to Singapore, Singapore to Hanoi and then Hanoi back to home country and stipend for the duration of the programme

Eligibility Criteria for the ASEAN Summer @NTU Programme

• Applicants should have an interest to know more about member countries of ASEAN and Singapore’s role as a gateway to ASEAN and are keen to pursue a multi-location short-term programme with NTU.
• Applicants must be full-time, matriculated undergraduate students in one of NTU exchange partner institutions.
• Applicants must have completed at least two (2) semesters of study at home university, with proof of academic results.
•  Applicants should possess the following:
• An excellent academic record by providing current transcript,
• A very good command of the English Language (see “English Proficiency Requirement”),
•  Hold leadership positions in any of the university student activity clubs and/or involved in community service,
•  A Recommendation Letter from a faculty of their home institution and
•  An up-to-date Curriculum Vitae of the individual’s accomplishments.

Supporting Documents

1. Scanned copy of the latest official transcript in English, reflecting all courses taken in PDF format.
2. Scanned copy of passport information page. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the commencement of the second segment of the programme in Vietnam.
3. Up-to-date Curriculum Vitae in PDF format.
4. Proof of English proficiency and/or letter from home institution certifying applicant’s proficiency in English.

Applicants are expected to have fulfilled any of the following:

• IELTS: a minimum of 6 for Overall and 6 for Writing
• TOEFL: a minimum of 570 (paper) or 90 (internet) or 237 (computer)
• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): a minimum of 55
• SAT: a minimum of 1250 for SAT taken from March 2016 onward.

• A 200-word letter written by the applicant on why he/she deserves to be part of the ASEAN Summe @NTU programme. (List the leadership roles that he/she is currently undertaking, including involvement in any form of social or community service.)
•  A Recommendation Letter from a faculty of the home institution and an outline of the nominee’s accomplishments.
