International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP) Thailand Workshop Held at Chulalongkorn University
On April 26th, 2024, the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP) Thailand Workshop was held in the Ball Room, 20th Floor, Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building, Chulalongkorn University. This workshop was facilitated by the Embassy of the United States of America in Bangkok, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), the Institute of International Education, Inc. (IIE), and Chulalongkorn University (Chula).The event aimed to promote partnership between Thai and US higher education institutions.
This workshop was part of the IAPP Thailand where academic partnership activities were conducted throughout one whole week (from April 22nd –26th, 2024) in prominent universities across Thailand; namely, Bangkok University, Chiang Mai University, Chulalongkorn University, CMKL University (a jointly established university between Carnegie Mellon University and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang), Khon Kaen University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Mae Fah Luang University, Mahasarakham University, Mahidol University, Payap University, Ramkhamhaeng University, Siam University, and Thammasat University.
The IAPP Thailand Workshop at Chula provided the opportunity for 18 higher education institutions in the United States and 20 higher education institutions in Thailand to exchange ideas and forge sustainable partnerships through a partnership gallery walk, thematic roundtable discussions during the lunch time, and an open discussion in full group which was facilitated by H.E. Ambassador Robert F. Godec of the Embassy of the United States of America in Bangkok.
Chulalongkorn University, in its capacity as a co-host of the IAPP Thailand Workshop, was able to highlight its goals to strengthen global academic and research engagements, with an attempt to develop future leaders and create impactful research for a more sustainable society and economy, and to be an open platform that contributes to the 17th United Nations Sustainable Development Goal, emphasizing “Partnerships for the Goals.”
To showcase the Chula’s campus’ capacities and facilities in fostering academic and research outputs as well as its greenery environment in the heart of Bangkok City, Chula concluded the program by offering a campus tour for the delegation from higher education institutions in the United States.
