UM-SJTU JI Winter Program
The University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute is excited to present its International Winter Program. The 2025 winter program will take place from December 28, 2024 (Saturday) to January 8, 2025 (Wednesday), and the Program is offering the following five courses:
- Field Study in Chinese History – Shaanxi/Gansu
- Design for Sustainable Development – Yunnan
- Computational Thinking with Data – Yunnan
- Digital Photography – Guizhou

All courses will be led by JI faculty members, with more than 60% of the course content delivered through specially arranged field studies. This approach provides students with the opportunity to explore their subjects within the broader context of China, enhancing their learning through experiential activities. Students are expected to arrive at their destination in China on December 28 and depart on January 8. The program fee is $1,560, which includes tuition, accommodation, transportation, and field trips. We also offer early-bird and partner discounts, which can be further discussed.
