Nanyang Technological University President Visiting Chulalongkorn University to Strengthen Collaboration
On February 17th 2025, a delegation from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) visited Chulalongkorn University to explore opportunities for joint research, training programs, and funding initiatives. The NTU delegation was led by Prof. HO Teck Hua, Ph.D., President of NTU, and included key representatives such as Ms. SEE E’jin, Chief Development Officer, and Ms. TAN Siang Peng, Director of Major Gifts at the University Advancement Office.
The Chula administrators were led by Assoc. Prof. Palanee Ammaranond, Ph.D., Vice President for International Affairs, and included key representatives such as Prof. Pornanong Aramwit, Pharm.D., Ph.D., Vice President for Research and Innovation; Assoc. Prof. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Prakorn Siriprakob, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Political Science; Prof. Rungsun Rerknimitr, M.D., Assistant to the President for Innovation Affairs; and Asst. Prof. Tewarit Sarachana, M.T., Ph.D., Assistant to the President for International Affairs.
Discussions focused on several key areas, including venture capital (VC) funding, where both institutions explored funding opportunities for startups and innovation-driven projects. Joint research collaboration was also a major topic, as both sides identified potential research partnerships in various disciplines to address global challenges such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Medicine, AI for Net Zero, and AI for Agriculture. Additionally, the meeting discussed the exchange of graduate students and the possibility of establishing a master’s double degree program.
The meeting reinforced the commitment of both institutions to advancing academic and research excellence through strategic partnerships. Future initiatives will be developed to foster deeper engagement between NTU and Chula in these priority areas.
