Chulalongkorn University Presidents’ Meeting with Former Chula Students at Harvard and MIT

During a recent visit to the United States to explore collaborations with Harvard and the MIT, Professor Wilert Puriwat, D.Phil. had the opportunity to meet Chulalongkorn University’s former students who are currently studying at Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The meeting was filled with warmth and care. The easy atmosphere contributed to thoughtful conversation among them.
The President expressed his genuine concern about the well-being of the former Chula students who are now working for graduate degrees in the U.S., asking about their daily lives and academic experiences – whether they have difficulties while living and studying in the U.S. In response, the students said that lately they have been facing challenges in extending their visas as this issue has become considerably uncertain nowadays.
Understanding the challenges, the President offered them words of encouragement and assured them that Chula highly values their dedication and efforts in studying at highly prestigious academic institutions abroad. On this occasion, the President extended a heartfelt invitation to these Chula alumni who are now at Harvard and the MIT to consider returning to work in Thailand after their graduation. Chulalongkorn University is ready to support their return, helping them find meaningful opportunities to contribute to the country’s development.
This visit underscored Chula’s continued commitment to its global community, and its intention to stay closely connected with its students and alumni, no matter where they are in the world.
