Invitation to EU-funded Workshop: “Promoting Dialogue on Youth, Diversity and Inclusion, Gender Equality in Thailand”

The Marriage Equality Act, in force since 23 January 2025, has put LGBTQIA+ rights at the forefront of Thai society, setting the tone for advancing further rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. With this achievement, one may ask: “With the Marriage Equality Act, what else needs to be done to protect against discrimination at work and promote safe learning environments among the youth?”

Against this background, and as part of the Pride Month 2025 activities in Thailand, the Delegation of the European Union to Thailand is very pleased to invite you to join a half-day workshop aimed at promoting dialogue and exchanges on diversity and inclusion, youth and gender equality in Thailand. The workshop will address three key topics: same-sex marriage, protection against discrimination at work, and the promotion of safe learning environments among the youth.

The Dialogue Workshop – implemented under the EU-Thailand Cooperation Facility (EUTHCF) – is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 19 June 2025, from 13:30 to 17:00 hrs, at Conrad Hotel Bangkok. 

The event will bring together youth, university representatives, civil society organisations, Thai authorities, private sector stakeholders, and members of the diplomatic community.

Please find attached the final draft workshop programme, which features two main panel discussions on:

  • “Promotion of a Safe Learning Environment among the Youth in Thailand – What are the overall conditions?”
  • “Protection Against Discrimination at Work in Thailand – What Is the overall state?”
