Meeting with CAS Innovation Cooperation Center and Industry Partners
On 20 June 2025, Associate Professor Palanee Ammaranond, Ph.D., Vice President for International Affairs, welcomed a delegation from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovation Cooperation Center in Bangkok, led by Mr. Richard Wang, Executive Director of the Innovation Cooperation Center (Bangkok). The representatives of United Imaging Intelligence Group and Pinnacle View Group also attended the meeting.
Professor James J. Xia, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of United Imaging Intelligence Group, presented Shanghai United Imaging Intelligence’s application of AI for interpreting CT/MRI scan results. He also introduced other AI-based solutions, including systems for neurology, surgical planning using 3D models, and a foundation model for large language medical applications—specifically, the uAI Medical Foundation Model Suite, designed to reduce AI hallucinations and serve as a platform for the development of a Meta-Hospital. Mr. Sarawut Thanachuanchai, Product Manager, informed the meeting that King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital is currently implementing the uAI Medical Foundation Model Suite.
On this occasion, Mr. Sherman Cheng, Marketing Officer at Pinnacle View Group, presented a proposal for a 2+2 International Top-up Program based on the University of California (UC) system, which includes the UC Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) in collaboration with California Community Colleges.
Vice President Palanee expressed interest in expanding collaboration involving the uAI system to other health science faculties, including the Faculty of Nursing and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. Regarding the 2+2 International Top-up Program, Mr. Sherman Cheng will serve as the main contact person and will continue discussions on the potential development of the program with Chulalongkorn University.
