Chulalongkorn University Partners with University of New South Wales to Strengthen Scientific Ties Under a New MoU
On 4th July 2025, Assoc. Prof. Palanee Ammaranond, Ph.D., Vice President for International Affairs, and Assoc. Prof. Aksara Putthividhya, Ph.D., from the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, welcomed Dr. Denis M. O’Carroll, Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and representative from the University of New South Wales, Australia at the Meeting Room, 18th Floor, Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Samerkhae Jongthammanurak, leader of the SMARTest Research Team, with promising discussions on the potential development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two prestigious universities.
In this regard, Dr. O’Carroll emphasized the existing strong ties between the University of New South Wales and Chulalongkorn University, as reflected in the growing number of joint publications. He also noted the potential for scientific collaboration under the upcoming MoU, including student exchange programs, scholarship opportunities, and further cooperation in academic advancement.
The meeting concluded with encouraging prospects with agreement that the MoU will foster more effective collaboration and standardized policies, contributing to the expansion of educational opportunities for students at both institutions.
