OIC-COMSTECH Explores Concrete Collaboration with Chulalongkorn University

On 29 July 2025, Asst. Prof. Tewarit Sarachana, MT, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for International Affairs and Global Network, along with representatives from the Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University, led by its Director, Dr. Pornpimol Mahamad, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (OIC-COMSTECH), headed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General. The meeting was held at the Meeting Room, 18th Floor, Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building. Mr. Paoyee Waesahmae, Counsellor at the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad, also joined the session.

The meeting aimed to explore concrete avenues for collaboration between OIC-COMSTECH and Chulalongkorn University in the fields of Halal science, innovation, and technology. Key areas of discussion included joint research programs, personnel training, capacity-building workshops, and the exchange of expertise—initiatives that directly support the university’s international growth and integrated development strategies.

This initiative aligns with Chulalongkorn University’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)—while also reinforcing the university’s strategic directions for international and integrated growth. It exemplifies Chulalongkorn’s role as a global driver of inclusive, collaborative, and sustainable innovation.
