Supporting Collaboration on TNE Curriculum Development between Thailand and the UK

TNE exploratory grant a funding initiative that supports the development of Transnational Education (TNE) partnerships between Thai and UK higher education institutions.

A funding initiative jointly launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and the British Council to support the development of Transnational Education (TNE) partnerships between Thai and UK higher education institutions

Funding is available for an expected total of 4 projects, each worth up to ÂĢ25,000.

💷 Fund

The maximum value of the grant is ÂĢ25,000 (approximately 1,110,000 Thai Baht). The grant is expected to support four Thailand-UK projects.

⏰ Duration:

Up to 17 months, starting from January 2026.

🌐 Research Areas:

The partnerships can be in any disciplines, but priority will be given to curricula/programmes focusing on specific areas of emerging technologies identified as Thailand’s key priorities in science, technology, and innovation, including AI, Electric Vehicles, Semiconductor, or Satellite Technologies. They should also respond to the needs of both countries and meet the criteria specified in the Guidance Notes document.

📚 Project Requirements:

The project must focus on co-creating a TNE program, such as:

  • Developing interdisciplinary curricula.
  • Delivering a joint teaching pilot for a dual-award qualification.
  • Projects should contribute to improving the quality 
  • of degrees/professional qualifications of both UK and Thai institutions.

🧑🏻‍🎓 Eligibility:

To be eligible for the ISPF Early Career Fellowship, you must: 

  • Each proposal must have both: 

â€Ē one Lead institution from one of Thailand; and â€Ē one Lead institution from the UK. 

  • Thai government organisations responsible for tertiary education must clearly demonstrate how the project will lead to the creation or strengthening of TNE programmes within the grant duration.
