Chulalongkorn University and ASEAN Partners Unite to Foster Global Citizenship and Sustainable Development through AUN Summer Camps across the Region
Chulalongkorn University reaffirms its steadfast commitment to cultivating students who excel academically while being equipped with global perspectives, practical competencies, and a profound sense of social responsibility grounded in a philanthropic spirit. Through proactive collaboration with partner universities across the ASEAN University Network (AUN), the Office of International Affairs and Global Network, under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Palanee Ammaranond, Ph.D., Vice President, spearheads transformative international programs that foster global citizenship and advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In 2025, twenty-seven Chulalongkorn University students joined the AUN Summer Camps, co-hosted by six leading universities across Southeast Asia. These programs were carefully designed to broaden horizons, enhance intercultural understanding, and strengthen essential competencies such as teamwork, creativity, and leadership, skills that empower students to thrive in an interconnected world.
The following is the list of Chula students participating in the AUN Summer Camps.
1. UBD-AUN Summer Camp 2025 at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Brunei, from June 15th to 28th, 2025 (Theme: Green Stewardship: Preserving Biodiversity and Advancing Sustainable Development)

Chulalongkorn University also hosted the Chula-AUN Summer Camp 2025 on its campus and at Sichang Island, Chon Buri, welcoming forty students from nine ASEAN countries representing twenty-five universities. Under the theme “Exploring Islands through Art and Culture”, participants engaged in two weeks, from June 21st to July 4th, 2025, of immersive learning, collaborative projects, and cross-cultural exchanges that highlighted creativity, sustainability, and community engagement. Five Chula students took part in this flagship camp:

Through these initiatives, Chulalongkorn University not only strengthens academic and intercultural competencies among its students but also reinforces its leadership role in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG13: Climate Action, SDG14: Life Below Water, SDG15: Life On Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
The University’s active role in the AUN Summer Camps is a clear reflection of its strategic vision of “Growing in All Directions, with Students at the Center.” These camps embody:
