The OIA Strengthens Staff Capacity and Commitment to Chulalongkorn University’s Global Vision through Strategic Seminar

The Office of International Affairs and Global Network (OIA), Chulalongkorn University, led by Assoc. Prof. Palanee Ammaranond, Ph.D., Vice President, and Asst. Prof. Tewarit Sarachana, Ph.D., Assistant to the President, organized a three-day seminar from August 14th – 16th, 2025 in Amphawa, Samut Songkhram Province. The program was designed to enhance staff capacity, foster teamwork, and align strategies with Chulalongkorn University’s vision to become the global Thai university, delivering life-changing values through innovative wisdom, mastery, and philanthropic spirit.
In her opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Palanee outlined the University’s international strategies and emphasized the OIA’s vital role in advancing international growth and integrated global engagement, in line with Chulalongkorn University’s aspiration to serve as a global hub of knowledge, innovation, and collaboration. The seminar featured workshops and reflection sessions, where staff reviewed past achievements and co-created strategic action plans for the upcoming fiscal year. These activities underscored the University’s commitment to nurturing internal growth by strengthening human capital, promoting adaptive work practices, and fostering collaboration across teams.
To reinforce the role of staff as the driving force of organizational success, Dr. Thiraput Pitichat, Assistant to the President for Organization Development, delivered an inspiring lecture on “Motivation and Engagement: Engaging Hearts and Minds for Success.” His message encouraged staff to embrace self-reflection, enhance motivation, and cultivate a culture of teamwork and innovation in their work.
The seminar also integrated sustainability into its agenda through a field visit to the Amphawa-Chaipattananurak Conservation Project, a Royal initiative exemplifying sustainable local development. Staff members learned from models of sustainable agriculture, community-based enterprises, and cultural tourism, while exploring opportunities to integrate such experiences into future OIA programs for international students. This initiative highlighted how community-based learning can advance global citizenship education and promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to sustainable communities, responsible consumption, and cultural preservation.
The seminar concluded with a renewed sense of unity, creativity, and purpose among OIA staff. Their collective commitment reinforces Chulalongkorn University’s dedication to advancing SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, while expanding the University’s impact as a leader in global engagement and sustainability.
