Chulalongkorn University and Embassy of China Strengthen Educational Collaboration on 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations
On September 4th, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Palanee Ammaranond, Ph.D., Vice President for International Affairs and Global Network, together with Asst. Prof. Tewarit Sarachana, Ph.D., Assistant to the President, welcomed the representatives from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Thailand. The Chinese delegation was led by Mr. Wu Jian, Minister Counsellor and Consul General, and Ms. Xu Lan, Deputy Counselor for Education at the Embassy. The meeting at the Meeting Room, 18th Floor, Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building was attended by senior officers of the Office of International Affairs and Global Network.
The discussion was focused on strengthening the existing educational collaboration between China and Chulalongkorn University as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. Mr. Wu Jian expressed gratitude to Chulalongkorn University for its taking good care of Chinese students’ wellbeing and for providing them with a high-quality educational experience. In this regard, Ms. Xu Lan also noted that several Chinese students have shown their interest in studying at Chulalongkorn University, emphasizing that the Chinese Government views this as a promising opportunity to further reinforce academic advancement to those students and fully supports the idea.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Palanee reaffirmed Chulalongkorn University’s commitment to supporting all international students in every aspect, in alignment with the University’s strategic vision of ‘Growing in All Directions, with Students at the Center’. Asst. Prof. Tewarit further highlighted that the Office of International Affairs and Global Network, along with faculty members across the University, is committed to providing students with the best possible support and care.
