Chulalongkorn University and Xiamen University Explore New Horizons of Academic Collaboration
September 23rd, 2025, Chulalongkorn University led by Prof. Parichart Sthapitanonda, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs and Social Outreach, welcomed an executive delegation from Xiamen University, China, headed by Prof. Zhang Zongyi, President, who introduced the university’s strong academic profile and future expansion to the Chulalongkorn University administrators.
During the meeting, both universities highlighted their attempts to achieve and maintain history of academic excellence, each having surpassed a century of establishment, and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation in education, research, and student mobility. Current collaborations in Marine Science have been recognized, with both sides eager to expand into new fileds, such as Asian Studies, Medicine, and Chinese International Education.
Prof. Parichart emphasized that this meeting which may result in MoU signing between the universities, marked a promising step toward more profound academic ties, joint seminars, double degree programs, and greater faculty and student exchange opportunities, particularly in the aforementioned areas.
The visit concluded with both sides reaffirming their strong commitment to transforming the discussions into concrete actions. The meeting ended on a positive note, paving the way for a promising and mutually beneficial partnership that will continue to grow in the years ahead.
