Overview :
The program offers opportunities for talented Master’s-level students to undertake pre-doctoral research internships within one of 17 available projects in microbiology and related fields at the Research Campus in Marburg led by the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology (MPI-TM).
Duration : max 6 months
Topics of Interest : Microbiology, Molecular biology, Biochemistry, or Environmental sciences
Application Deadline : 31 October 2025
Benefits
- Receive gross 2200 EUR per month (full time before tax deduction) to cover necessary expenses (housing and living)
- Funding can be granted for the fiscal year 2026
Requirements
- Ambitious early-career talents from the Global South
- Holds a Master’s degree or equivalent or are in the final stages of their Master’s program in biology , biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, bioinformatics, chemistry, chemical biology, physics, biophysics, geochemistry or another relevant field
- Interested in the possibility to start a PhD in the field of microbiology in Marburg
