[Call for Papers] the 20th National Environmental Conference for Doctoral Students (NECDS)
The AUA Secretariat is glad to announce that the 20th National Environmental Conference for Doctoral Students (NECDS) in Conjunction with 2026 AUA Postgraduate Academic Forum is now calling for submissions.
The conference is jointly hosted by Tsinghua University, the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, and the State Key Laboratory of Regional Environment and Sustainability, organized by the School of Environment of Tsinghua University, and supported by the Asian University Alliance, the Engineering Environment journal, and Hach Company.
To be held on 16-19 May 2026, this international conference engages in extensive collision of advance ideas in order to boost environmental innovation via exchanging of knowledge, sharing of ideas, and interchanging of progressive technology as well as discoveries in the field of environmental science and engineering.
The scope of the conference covers interdisciplinary fields of studies, including
1) Water Pollution Control and Resource Recovery,
2) Solid waste pollution control and resource recovery,
3) Air pollution and control,
4) Environmental Chemistry,
5) Sustainability Systems, Policy, and Carbon Neutrality Strategies,
6) Ecology, Biogeochemistry, and Global Climate Change, and
7) Frontier Interdisciplinary Research and Net-Zero Technologies.
With its growing popularity and prominence, NECDS has progressively become the one of most significant venue of academic exchange for doctoral students specializing in environmental science and engineering in China. The conference is calling for papers mainly from doctoral (PhD) students of relevant discipline of studies, while papers from undergraduate and post-graduate students are welcomed to submit as well.
This year, students of all AUA universities are welcomed to join this conference online. In addition, to promote academic exchange among member universities of the AUA, the organizing committee has set up a special scholarship to support outstanding young scholars from the AUA to participate in this forum in-person. Applicants who are not selected for the scholarship are still welcomed to participate online.
To participate in the forum, interested students should send the required materials directly via email to the organizing committee’s official email address: [ndac@tsinghua.edu.cn]ndac@tsinghua.edu.cn before 15 March 2026.
Students interested in applying the in-person participation scholarship should submit the scholarship application form in the Annex1, and send it via email with the subject format of [Annex1 + Affiliation + Participant Category + your name], for example, [Annex1 + Tsinghua University + Ph.D. candidate + David].
Students who prefer to participate online should submit the abstract registration form in Annex2, and send it via email with the subject format of [Annex2 + Affiliation + Participant Category + your name], for example, [Annex2 + Tsinghua University + Ph.D. candidate + David].
