Call for Applications: Thailand–Austria Research Mobility Program 2026
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand (MHESI), in collaboration with ASEA-UNINET, invites Austrian PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to apply for the Thailand–Austria Research Mobility Program.
This program supports short-term research stays in Thailand and aims to strengthen bilateral academic and research collaboration between Thailand and Austria across all disciplines.
🎓 Program Scope & Duration
• Short-term research mobility
• Duration as mutually agreed with the Thai host advisor and ASEA-UNINET member university
• Research conducted at an ASEA-UNINET member university in Thailand
🌍 Eligibility
• Citizenship: Austrian
• Target Group: PhD students or postdoctoral researchers affiliated with ASEA-UNINET member universities in Austria
• Maximum Age: 45 years (child-raising periods may be considered)
• Language Requirement: Very good command of English
• Fields of Study: All fields eligible (Sciences, Engineering, Health, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Humanities, and more)
🎁 Funding & Support
- MHESI Support
• 50,000 THB per approved project
• Funds administered through the Thai host university - Thai Host University Support
• Research-related expenses
• Health and accident insurance
• Access to laboratories, equipment, and research facilities
• Academic supervision and progress monitoring
• Possible additional financial support (subject to institutional policy)
📝 Application Process
• Austrian applicants must first contact an ASEA-UNINET member university in Thailand to identify a host advisor and develop a joint research plan
• Application forms and details are obtained through the Thai host university
• Thai host universities submit project proposals to MHESI on behalf of applicants
