Chulalongkorn University and the University of Hong Kong Expand Collaboration in Innovation and Research
On February 23, 2026, Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, together with the university’s executive team, attended and witnessed the agreement signing ceremony between the School of Integrated Innovation, Chulalongkorn University, and the Faculty of Engineering, University of Hong Kong (HKU). The ceremony was held at the Technology Innovation and Incubation Building, the HKU.
The agreement was signed by Professor David Srolovitz, Dean of Engineering, the HKU, and Professor Suchada Sukrong, Executive Director of the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation. The signing was witnessed by Professor Yin Xiaobo, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global), the HKU, and Dr. Ronnakorn Vaiyavuth, Deputy Executive Director for Innovation and Commercialization, Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions through student and faculty exchange, joint research activities, and academic collaboration in areas related to innovation, engineering, and interdisciplinary studies. It also provides a framework for developing collaborative programs and research initiatives that support knowledge exchange and global academic engagement.
The Chulalongkorn University executive team attending the ceremony included Professor Dr. Pornanong Aramwit, Vice President for Research Affairs; Associate Professor Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Vice President for International Affairs; Professor Dr. Rungsun Rerknimitr, Assistant to the President; and Dr. Thiraput Pitichat, Assistant to the President. The representatives of the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation, the Faculty of Communication Arts, and the Faculty of Economics also joined the delegation, reflecting the interdisciplinary scope of the collaboration.
