Chulalongkorn University and the University of Hong Kong Sign Agreement on Thai and Buddhist Studies
On February 23, 2026, the Chulalongkorn University executive team, led by Professor Dr. Parichart Sthapitanonda, Vice President for Academic Affairs, attended the agreement signing ceremony between the Institute of Thai Studies, Chulalongkorn University, and the Centre of Buddhist Studies, the University of Hong Kong.
The agreement was signed by Associate Professor Dr. Ritirong Jiwakanon, Director of the Institute of Thai Studies, Chulalongkorn University, and Professor Georgios T. Halkias, Director of the Centre of Buddhist Studies, the University of Hong Kong. The agreement seeks to promote academic cooperation through faculty and researcher exchange, joint research projects, collaborative publications, and the organization of academic conferences, seminars, and cultural activities. It also supports collaboration in teaching and learning in Thai studies, Buddhist studies, and related interdisciplinary fields, with the aim of strengthening scholarly networks and fostering long-term institutional partnership.
Chulalongkorn University delegates attending the event included Assistant Professor Dr. Tewarit Sarachana, Assistant to the President; Assistant Professor Dr. Nhabhat Chaimongkol, Assistant to the President; Dr. Vorapol Jaroonvanichkul, Assistant to the President; and Assistant Professor Dr. Pram Sounsamut, Deputy Director of the Institute of Thai Studies.
