Chulalongkorn University and HKUST Advance Academic Collaboration through Leadership Meeting and New Agreements
On February 23, 2026, Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, together with Vice Presidents and members of the executive team, had a senior leadership meeting with administrators of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), led by Professor Nancy Ip, President of the HKUST. The meeting was held at the Council Chamber on the 7th floor of HKUST.
The meeting focused on strengthening institutional partnership and explored opportunities for collaboration in student mobility, joint research, innovation-driven education, and interdisciplinary academic initiatives. Both sides also exchanged views on future cooperation frameworks and mechanisms to support sustained academic engagement. The leadership meeting was also attended by Professor Parichart Sthapitanonda, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Professor Dr. Pornanong Aramwit, Vice President for Research Affairs; and Associate Professor Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Vice President for International Affairs.
Following the meeting, President Wilert and President Nancy Ip signed a Student Exchange Agreement, marking an important step in expanding academic mobility and student engagement between the two institutions. The agreement establishes a framework for student exchange and supports international learning experiences.
In addition, a collaborative agreement between the HKUST School of Business and Management and the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation was signed. The agreement was signed by Professor Frederik Anseel, Dean of the HKUST School of Business and Management, and Professor Suchada Sukrong, Executive Director of the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Presidents of both universities, reflecting shared commitment to interdisciplinary cooperation in business, innovation, and related fields.
After the meeting, the Chulalongkorn University delegation toured the HKUST campus. The representatives of Chulalongkorn University’s faculties, colleges, and schools also joined breakout meetings with the HKUST counterparts to discuss opportunities for further academic and research collaboration.
The senior leadership meeting, agreement signings, and breakout meetings reaffirmed the strong partnership between Chulalongkorn University and HKUST and highlighted continued efforts to expand international academic cooperation.
