FHU AI × MedTech – Asia Innovation Challenge 2026

An international program to pioneer the future of healthcare and AI will be held in the summer of 2026. The FHU AI x MedTech Asia Innovation Challenge 2026 is a hands-on innovation program that addresses medical challenges and develops implementable solutions using AI.

Program Overview:

This is a 10-day intensive international innovation program where students identify real healthcare problems, design AI-powered solutions, and build testable prototypes in international teams.

Participating students will:

•Conduct fieldwork in real healthcare settings
•Define problems and generate ideas in internationally diverse teams
•Develop prototypes using AI tools such as ChatGPT
•Experience the entire process end-to-end, culminating in a final pitch delivered in English

Format: On-site intensive program
Participants: 30 students (15 international, 15 Japanese)
Participation fee: Free (includes accommodation and some meals)
*Transportation costs are self-funded
Output: AI × Healthcare prototype + English pitch

Who can apply:

International Students:
Students from Fujita Health University’s MOU partner universities.
Japanese Students:
Students selected through a nationwide open application in Japan.
General Application Requirements:
•All majors are welcome (including medicine, engineering, computer
science, design, business, etc.)
•English proficiency at or above a conversational level
•Programming experience is not required (motivation and enthusiasm are prioritized)

Program structure:

1.Identifying Healthcare Challenges (Fieldwork, observation, and interviews)
2.Problem Definition (Structuring the core issues)
3.Solution Creation and Validation (Utilizing AI and prototyping)
4.Development and Presentation (Final demo and English pitch)

Program schedule:

Day 1 : Opening Ceremony & Keynote Speech
Days 2‒3 : Fieldwork & Issue Identification
Days 4‒6 : Problem Definition & Validation
Days 7‒8 : Prototype Development
Day 9 : Pitch Preparation (Afternoon: transfer to STATION Ai )
Day 10 : Demo Day, Final Presentations & Awards Ceremony
