[Invitation] Environmental History

On Friday, September 23, 2022, at 2 p.m. BKK/3 p.m. MNL/5 p.m. Sydney, the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the University of Johannesburg, and the De La Salle University, Manila, invites you to International Arts Talk XVII.

This time, the presentations cover the topic of Environmental History which concerns human interaction with nature. The focus of the presentations are Teak Trading and Farming.

Our invited speaker from the University of Johannesburg, Gregory Barton, will tell us about the history of teak wood industry in Thailand, while Arleigh Dela Cruz from De La Salle University, Manila, will discuss the development of agriculture in the Philippines. Moderated by our Head of the Department of History, Wasana Wongsurawat, this talk is certain to provide not only information on development of teak wood trading and farming, but also in-depth knowledge in the field of history.
