A Visit by the Representatives of Tampere University of Applied Sciences and the Embassy of Finland in Bangkok
On April 24th, 2023, President of Chulalongkorn University, together with the representatives of the Office of Research Affairs, the College of Population Studies, the Institute of Environmental Research, the Institute of Social Research, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Faculty of Science, held a meeting with Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TUMK) representatives – President Tapio Kujala and Ms. Anne-Maria Mäkelä, Head of External Funding, Project Management Office (Research, Development and Innovation) at the Meeting Room, 18th Floor, Chaloem Rajakumari 60 Building. The representatives of the Embassy of Finland in Bangkok – Dr. Annika Vatanen, Advisor (Labour, Migration, Educational Affairs) and Ms. Richiravanich Teeranuch, Office Administrator (Team Finland) also took part in the meeting.
The administrators of both sides discussed ways to strengthen their research collaborations and agreed to promote student and staff exchange activities. The Office of Research Affairs at Chula and TAMK have planned to jointly submit a proposal for a research collaboration project to Erasmus+. In this respect, both parties will arrange further meetings to discuss the proposal in more detail. The representative of the Faculty Pharmaceutical Sciences has extended an invitation to TAMK Business students to engage in research-project studies or internships at the Chula start-up companies. In addition, the TAMK representative has proposed a joint application for student/staff mobility under Erasmus Capacity Building for Higher Education in the academic year 2024 to promote student and staff exchange activities between the two universities.
