Cyber for Her: Digital Upskilling and Competition

Cyber for Her: Digital Upskilling and Competition is a collaboration between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA)’s Digital Asia Accelerator (DAA) activity, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The program aims to attract and empower women to pursue and advance careers in the field of Cybersecurity by providing them with a platform to improve and showcase their skills and abilities.

Program Structure: 

1. Virtual Bootcamp (2 – 3 August 2023): Introduction to Cyber for Her and the AWS platform (online). 
2. Virtual Competition (4 August 2023): Team competition to solve cybersecurity challenges on the AWS platform (online).
3. In-person Competition (28 – 30 August 2023): Winning team from each country will fly to Bangkok, Thailand, to participate in the final competition (in-person).

To be eligible to participate in Cyber for Her, interested women must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Age 18 or older at the time of application
  • Citizen of one of the following countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, or Thailand
  • Employee of a company, non-government organization, or civil society organization, and/or a university student
  • Interest in the cybersecurity field
  • Proficient English language skills, as the program will be delivered in English 
  • Access to a computer and a stable internet connection

The application deadline is 24 July 2023.
