AUA Asia Deep Dive Program 2024 — A Tapestry of Natural, Cultural, and Social Diversity in Indonesia
AUA Secretariat would like to invite you to the “AUA Asia Deep Dive Program 2024—A Tapestry of Natural, Cultural, and Social Diversity in Indonesia”. The Asia Deep Dive Programs offer opportunities for students in Asia to have a better understanding of the diverse Asian countries. This year, Universitas Indonesia and Universiti Malaya jointly provide a hybrid program, focusing on the natural, cultural, and social diversity in Indonesia.

Expected outcomes | This program offered several benefits to the students, including: – A good knowledge about geological phenomena within the Pacific Ring of Fire; – A better understanding of the interaction between volcanoes and culture; – An experience in some spiritual context; – A deep dive into the complex and culturally diverse challenges in biodiversity conservation in Indonesia; – A unique and comprehensive educational experience in the context of Indonesia’s rich and diverse ecosystems; – Understanding traditional knowledge through ethnobiology: the intricate relationship between cultures and indigenous biodiversity. |

Eligible participants | Participants should be registered as active students at their university and have a recommendation by a faculty leader from their university |
Fees for AUA members | – Free registration for students from AUA members – Travel stipend for one student from each AUA member university depends on their flight origins as follows: 1. Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand: USD 150 2. Myanmar, India, Hong Kong SAR: USD 350 3. China’s Mainland: USD 375 4. Sri Lanka, South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates: USD 500. – All cost includes local accommodations (hotel), meals, local transportation during activity, and all expenses for multicultural trips in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. |
Selected students from Chulalongkorn University will be provided:
- Airfare (Booked and paid for by OIA)
- Travel insurance
- Transportation fee from home to the airport or airport to home
(not exceeding 500 THB per trip)
